When Sally was very little, every time her stepfather would come home drunk, her mother forced her to her room and hid her under her bed. She would tell Sally not to come out until she returned, saying that they were playing hide and seek and that Daddy was 'It' and not to come out until she came back. As Sally got older she learned the truth about her stepdad, and it pained her to know that her mother had to receive a beating daily, to protect Sally from being harmed. One night Sally was heading out from a romantic date, her mother stopped her at the door and handed her a beautiful pearl necklace. Her stepdad walked in about this time and saw the necklace, he was drunk and pissed. Saying that a pearl necklace was not ment for someone her age, that she looked like a 'whore', while tearing the neclace from her neck. He started attacking her mother, beating her to death in front of Sally. Sally tried to make him stop but after he 'finished' her mother he came at her. That's when a bright white light appeared around her and protected her from her father's blows. In his drunken stupor he took off out the door screaming that Sally was a freak of nature. The whereabouts of her stepdad are unknown at this point. Sally has been Sally is a joyful, fun-loving, open-minded, sweet, almost innocent-seeming individual and is only shy when it comes down to the opposite sex that she finds attractive. She dresses in whatever feels comfortable, mostly 80s clothes and doesn't really care what anyone thinks of her. Sally loves to paint, draw, and play the piano. Painting and drawing help with her emotions, so she doesn't have to bottle everything up nor tell anyone about her tragic past. Playing the piano is something that helps Sally remember the fun times with her mother, how she would sit in her mother's lap and her mother would move her fingers across the keys to play a lovely tune. A pearl necklace that belonged to her mother is the one thing Sally is very overprotective over. It was given to her by her mother on the night of her death, and was the cause of the fight in the first place. Her father had broken it but Sally managed to grab the pearls and stuff them in her pocket, then reassemble it later. The necklace is safely tucked away in a large jewelry box that stays with Sally when she moves from place to place. Sally ended up at the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and that is where she currently resides, working on increasing her abilities and growing in her knowledge of hand-on-hand combat.
